"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is a upcoming superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Doctor Strange. It is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and is the sequel to the 2016 film "Doctor Strange." The film is directed by Sam Raimi and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, who must protect the Marvel universe from threats that come from other dimensions. "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is scheduled to be released on March 25, 2022. The film will follow Doctor Strange as he grapples with the aftermath of the events of "Avengers: Endgame" and the destruction of the Time Stone. The film will also explore the concept of the multiverse, which is a central element of the Doctor Strange comics and refers to the idea that there are multiple parallel universes existing alongside our own. In addition to Cumberbatch, the film also features Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, who will be reprising her role from the MCU.
